FAQ

  • What is an eSafety check, and why is it necessary?

    close more info

An eSafety check, commonly known as a pink slip, is required for all light vehicles older than 5 years in NSW for registration renewal. It assesses a vehicle's roadworthiness, affecting passenger safety, and ensures the vehicle meets specific safety standards at a particular point in time. If the vehicle has been unregistered for over 3 months, we can give you the required blue slip inspection instead. We also offer LPG inspection as well if your vehicle is fitted with an LPG system.

  • What happens if my vehicle doesn't pass the eSafety check?

    open more info

If your vehicle fails its initial roadworthy inspection, you'll receive a white slip failure notice. This gives you 14 days to make the necessary repairs and return to the same inspection station for a re-check at no extra cost. If repairs aren't completed within this period, a new eSafety inspection will be required.

  • How much does an eSafety check cost, and how long does the inspection take?

    open more info

The cost of an eSafety check can vary based on the authorized inspection station and your vehicle's type. The prices are fixed by the NSW Roads and Maritime services so please consult their website for an exact quote. Generally, the inspection itself takes about 30 minutes to an hour, but it's best to consult with the specific inspection station for precise timings and costs.
